Fire Tech Junior Tech Club

New school year and new awesome tech projects! Fire Tech have put together some of the best parts, added some amazing new kits and equipment, and then – in the true making spirit – tinkered with it all to engineer a one-of-a-kind weekend club for digital makers aged 9 to 12. For 10 sessions, students will explore creative and inspiring topics from the world of tech — from learning how computer works and programming robots to creating digital music and art and everything in between. No prior knowledge is needed to join the club.

Fire Tech Teen Python Club

Whether you dream of building the next million pound start-up, working at Facebook or Google, or been a Data Scientist, this course will give you a valuable skill to build a rewarding career in whatever field you choose. Get familiar with Python, one of the most widely-used and widely-taught programming languages in senior schools, universities and businesses. Students will acquire the foundations of computer science to continue their independent or school-based learning in future. This is a beginners’ course, with a “back-to-basics” approach with the goal for each participant to learn the basics of the Python language and will cover a subset of the material offered in our intensive Teen Coding with Python course. Specialist tutors will introduce programming concepts such as variables, integers and loops, and students will leave feeling empowered to code more independently with Python. This course is a subset of our week-long Teen Coding with Python course and runs for 3 hrs during 5 consecutive weeks.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN

Fundamentals of coding – key concepts and structure of languages and projects
Coding – participants will learn to code in Python, work on mini-projects, building graphical interfaces, games and problem-solving routines.
Testing and debugging projects

Teen Python II

Take your coding further with this second step in learning Python. This course builds on the Python fundamentals covered in Teen Python I.

This course builds on the Python fundamentals covered in the Teen Python Club course and helps you to deepen your knowledge of this powerful and popular coding language that is helping a wide range of industries push the boundaries of digital innovation and creation. Our specialist tutors will help you to develop more robust programming proficiency by developing your knowledge and use of advanced strings & expressions, file IO’s and data structures applied within challenge-focused environments.
