People in West Oxford are set to get a much needed revamp to the flooring at West Oxford Community Centre thanks to a £5,806.82 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.

The money, will be used to replace tired old floor coverings with smart new hard-wearing and durable flooring at the West Oxford Community Centre in Botley Road, Oxford.

Manager of the Community Centre Keith Birnie believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.
He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of West Oxford. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our centre’s makeover in the next few weeks.”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Richard Smith, Senior Grant Manager for FCC Communities Foundation says: “It’s great to see a project we have funded completed. The new flooring at West Oxford Community Centre will make a difference to all users of the building. FCC Communities Foundation is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities and this is a great example of what can be achieved.”

Keith Birnie hopes the Community Centre will be ready to use by the 21 September
